There are six folders on cosmetics in general, with the balance devoted to specific cosmetics or manufacturers. Among the more notable collections are those on Elizabeth Arden, Marvo Beauty Laboratories, Merle Norman, and Valaze Skin Food (Helena Rubinstein).

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration originated as part of the Dept. of Agriculture. In 1940, it was transferred to the Federal Security Agency, where it remained until 1953, when it became part of the newly created Dept. of Health, Education and Welfare.
